City park parkrun
Main club details
6 Yes Volunteers needed
We need a minimum of 6 volunteers to hold each event. There are a number of core roles defined and each is fairly simple. The core roles are
1. Timekeeper - operates a stopwatch and ensures than each runner has a recorded time
2. Finish Token support - hands a numbered token to each runner that finishes the course
3. Barcode scanner - uses a portable barcode scanner to record each runners individual barcode
In addition to the core roles we also need volunteers to set up the course and marshal it so that runners are safe throughout the event.
All volunteer tasks are relatively simple and require no previous experience. Instruction on each role is available from the parkrun website and a quick run through is offered before a volunteers first attempt.
The City Park parkrun event is held weekly at 09:30. Volunteers meet at the Craigavon Watersports Centre 30 minutes before the event and will usually be finished between 10:30 and 11:00. Volunteers can join us as frequently as suits them and we are not averse to volunteers participating. In fact,we would encourage it.
About our club
We organise free, weekly, 5km timed runs every Saturday morning at 9.30
organised by teams of local volunteers. They are open
to everyone and are safe and easy to take part in. Participants are timed and times are logged so that all runners can follow their progression.
Sports and activities
