Maidstone Invicta Rowing Club - Junior Squad

Maidstone Invicta Rowing Club,
James Whatman Way,
ME14 1LQ

3 Yes Volunteers needed

We are looking for volunteers to join our team to fulfill roles in coaching (some assistance to qualifying as coaches with British Rowing), admin roles and website upgrading/maintenance (we are too busy on the water to do it!). We are positively seeking adult female volunteers as half of our juniors are female and we need assistance in providing rowing opportunites to them whilst complying with safeguarding guidelines. We actively support #thisgirlcan campaigns as we see evidence that teenage girls in particular are more likely to leave sport. We are particularly keen to hear from coaches in other competitive sports that fancy trying a different sport.

About our club

We are the junior section (13-18 year olds) of a successful community rowing club. We have over 80 juniors and compete at national level events. We row throughout the year. Our main sessions are Wednesdays (4pm to 830pm split across different gender/age groups) and Saturdays (10am to 14.30pm). All our coaching and administration team are volunteers. Our team are a mix of ex-rowers, qualified coaches and parent-helpers. We seek to provide rowing opportunities to anyone in the local community but are limited by the available hours and skills of our volunteers. With more volunteers and coaching skills from other sports, we can enhance our existing offering to the juniors and seek to expand to other juniors.
