6 Yes Volunteers needed
The club is entirely run by volunteers and there are a wide variety of ways to get involved. These range from help with catering games, assisting with the upkeep of the Green and the Club premises, scoring or umpiring games, coaching our juniors or seniors. There are also administrative roles where it is possible for volunteers to join our executive committee. We hope to attract volunteers who can make a regular commitment and become part of our community. Roles like scoring and umpiring will be active during the cricket season - late April to September. Other roles may be slightly quieter in the winter, but still continue. A regular commitment doesn't have to mean every weekend or on the same day each week.
We can fund training for scorers, umpires and those who wish to help out with the juniors. So no previous experience is necessary. Volunteers working with the juniors will need to have a DBS check, but we can help you sort this out too and it is free for volunteers.
About our club
We have 3 senior league sides and an active and growing junior section - in 2017 we are running teams at under 12, under 14 and under 16 age groups. We are also hosting the new ECB scheme to encourage 5-8 year olds to get involved in cricket - Cricket All Stars. We play on the Mitcham Cricket Green which is the oldest continuously used ground in the world!
We are an extremely friendly club with members from age 6 to 80+. We welcome men and women, boys and girls.
